HTML is not a programming language, it is a markup language that defines the structure of your content. HTML consists of a series of elements, which you use to enclose, or wrap, different parts of the content in Order to make it appear in a certain way, or act in a certain way.

HTML code ensures the proper formatting of text and images so that your Internet browser can display them as they are planned to look. Without HTML, a browser would do not understand how to display text as elements or load images or other elements. HTML provides a basic structure of the page, upon which Cascading Style Sheets are overlaid to change its appearance. HTML acts as a bone (structure) of a web page, and CSS acts as its skin (appearance).

All HTML tags have an opening tag that contains the name with any attributes, a close tag that contains a forward slash, and the name of the tag that is being closed. For tags that do not have a closing tag like , it is best practice to end the tag with a forward slash because sometimes it shows error in the code or does not display image. so it is better to end the with a forward slash.
